She let out a heavy sigh. “You have no clue.” She decided she probably shouldn’t tell Break about this later. “Really, if I could tell you more, I would…” though it would cost you. She thought to herself, quickly shaking that thought out of her head. If Break remembered this interaction he wouldn’t be too happy.
“No, I really have not”, he agreed. Whatever she would say to him, there was something about that Xerxex Break … something strange. He knew everything about him, while he did not even know his name? That was simply impossible … unless … “And why can’t you, Miss? Why is that person someone … I should not know, huh? What could happen what you try to avoid so desperately. It does not make any sense to me!”
“I don’t quite understand it either. But as the old saying goes, better safe than sorry.” She replied sympathetically. She wasn’t sure what would happen if she told Kevin that Break was his future self. She was just glad she’d been able to bet both of him. And Kevin seemed much more tolerable than Break did. Then again, she found his slight hissy-fits quite amusing.
